July 2023

Greetings

Dear ILO Community,

It is with great excitement and a profound sense of responsibility that I greet you as the new Executive Director of Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO). As I step into this role, I am inspired by the immense potential that lies ahead for our organization, and I am eager to embark on this journey of growth and transformation with each and every one of you.

First and foremost, I extend my gratitude to the entire ILO family – our dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, generous supporters, valued self-advocates and their participating families. Your unwavering commitment to our mission has been the driving force behind our successes thus far, and I am humbled to be a part of this incredible community.

At ILO, we have always believed in the power of intentional community and the transformative impact it can have on the lives of individuals with visible and invisible disabilities. Together, we will build on our collective strengths, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

Participation growth is vital to realizing our vision, and I am confident that by expanding our outreach efforts and enhancing our program offerings, we will attract more self-advocates who can benefit from the unique opportunities ILO provides. Let us work hand in hand to build a vibrant, diverse, and engaged community that fosters personal growth, empowerment, and lifelong intentional community.

Furthermore, financial stability is the cornerstone of any thriving organization. I am committed to developing sustainable strategies that will secure our long-term financial health, enabling us to carry out our mission and expand our impact. We will explore new avenues for funding, forge strategic partnerships, and diligently steward the resources entrusted to us.

I firmly believe that the path ahead is illuminated by the passion and dedication of our ILO family. By envisioning a future where all individuals with unique abilities can lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, we pave the way for lasting change and create a society that cherishes and celebrates differences.

Before I conclude, I offer my sincere appreciation to Maedi Tanham Carney. As the visionary behind ILO, her dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts have laid the foundation for our organization’s success. Her commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities and fostering a sense of belonging has touched countless lives. We honor her legacy as we take the reins, pledging to continue the incredible work she started and build upon the meaningful impact she has made.

Thank you for your continued belief in ILO and the boundless potential of the cities in which we live.

 With heartfelt optimism,

Tait Danielson
